Paul has worked for many years as a trainer, facilitator and coach across a wide variety of sectors including retail banking, investment banking, asset management, law, management consultancy, manufacturing, retail, pharmaceutical, the NHS and higher education.
He delivers training and executive coaching in two main focus areas: Commercial Communication Skills – including consultative selling, negotiation, sales management, pitching & presentation and business writing; and Leadership & Management Skills – including feedback, coaching, delegation, interviewing skills, appraisal, unconscious bias and conflict resolution. As well as these practical skills of management, Paul works with leaders to help them take a step back and find time to build a more strategic view of their teams and business goals, using well established models such as Situational Leadership and Team Development.
His fundamental belief is that training and coaching should be tailored and engaging; based on sound theory; and enjoyable and practical – designed to give participants skills and techniques that will be immediately applicable in the workplace and beyond, plus the motivation and confidence to use them.
Through his training and experience as a professional actor, Paul can also provide powerful opportunities for participants to practice and build their skills before they leave the training room.
Prior to his work in training, Paul had a successful career as a portfolio manager for Kleinwort Benson Investment Management and continues to work as a consultant in the Financial Services Sector. He has a degree in Economics from the University of Bristol, and a Securities Institute Diploma in Financial Futures & Options, Investment Management and Investment Analysis.
